Purpose
- oblique builder raising your legs to one side from a dead hang
- taking the legs off centre puts lateral flexion and rotation together, so the
obliques do what a straight hanging leg raise hands to the abs
- hanging gives the legs room to start below your hips, which no floor variation
reaches
Execution
Hang from a pull-up bar with your arms fully extended and your legs straight
down.
- raise your legs to one side, leading with your hip rather than your knees
- continue until your legs are at least parallel to the ground
- lower them under control back into the hang
- keep your torso from swinging between reps
- finish all reps on one side before switching
Once bodyweight gets easy, hold a dumbbell between your feet.
