front delt builder with your back on an incline pad and your arms hanging
behind you
the reclined torso lets your arms start behind your body, so the front delt is
lengthened at the bottom in a way a standing front raise never reaches
with dumbbells the tension is still lowest at that deepest point, so the
stretch is there but the load arrives later in the rep
Execution
Set an incline bench to roughly 45 degrees. Sit back against the pad holding a
dumbbell in each hand, arms hanging down and slightly behind you, palms facing
in.
raise the weights forward and up to shoulder level
keep your back against the pad throughout
lower them under control back into the hang behind you
pause briefly in the stretched position before the next rep
Set the bench angle once and keep it, adding an exercise note when you change
it: more reclined puts your arms further behind you, more upright moves it back
towards a standing raise.
