Purpose
- neck builder bending your head towards one shoulder against a load
- it covers the side of the neck, which neither flexion nor extension reaches:
three directions is what makes a neck grow evenly
- the range is short, so this lives or dies on control rather than on how much
you stack
Execution
Lie on your side on a bench with your head and neck hanging off the end. Hold a
plate or a head harness against the upper side of your head.
- lower your head towards the floor until you feel a stretch up the side of your
neck
- bend your head up towards your top shoulder
- move only at the neck, keeping your shoulders square
- lower it back under control
- finish all reps on one side before switching
Start with no weight at all and work up incrementally. The neck adapts slowly
and the range is what you are building first.
