anti-lateral-flexion work: the job is stopping your hip from dropping towards
the floor
the only trunk hold loaded from the side, which is a direction nothing else
here trains
one side at a time, so a weaker side cannot hide behind a stronger one the way
it can in a front plank
Execution
Lie on your side and set your forearm on the floor directly under your shoulder,
elbow at ninety degrees. Stack your feet and lift your hips until your body
makes a straight line from head to heels.
push the floor away with your forearm to keep your shoulder from sinking
hold your hips stacked rather than letting the top one roll forward
keep your head in line with your spine
breathe normally rather than holding your breath
end the set when your hip starts dropping, not when the clock runs out
When the hold stops being hard, add resistance rather than time: a plate on your
hip, a heavier band, or a longer lever.
