Purpose
- quad and glute builder under a cambered bar, loaded and progressed like any
back squat
- the camber hangs the weight ahead of your traps, so it pushes your torso
forward and you fight to hold your angle the whole way
- the handles in front mean no shoulder mobility is needed to keep the bar in
place
Execution
Set the safety squat bar on your traps and take the handles. Feet shoulder-width
apart, toes slightly out. Brace your trunk.
- push your hips back and down, resisting the forward pull
- descend as deeply as your hips allow, pad tight to your traps
- pause briefly in the bottom where the stretch is highest
- drive through your midfoot to stand back up
- keep holding your torso angle as you rise
Expect less weight than a straight bar for the same depth. The camber is what
you came for.
